Today’s maintenance will be pushing the 3D and Move Support for Everybody’s Hot Shots Golf World Tour Out of Bounds… well I don’t have a PlayStation 3 at the moment to confirm but according to the post by Envisager at the Everybody’s Golf Community.

If the update is the same as Minna no Golf 5 then there will be a few changes to game play and maybe course updates that potentially decrease the quality of the game. So look at this as either a positive or negative thing depending on how you enjoy the game.

PlayStation Move is fun but not being able to use it Online makes the update redundant and the fact you need to replay the game from scratch to unlock everything makes it unattractive to people who already own the game. This however is fine for those who recently bought the game.

Does it ruin the game? :/

Alright. Well hope the courses didn’t go all bright and things didn’t degrade in quality. :(

The courses lose details and stuff in the update.

Any word on this? Without the update, you can’t play online anymore, correct?

The PlayStation Move Aspect of the Update doesn’t have Online Mode.

  • stormy : I just unlocked the caddy rina in hot shots golf oob... And for someone from portgual they have a heavy english accent, someone's mind was in a haze when they were localizing her :P
  • Shihiko : source is still running it... maybe twitter updated something. I'll check it up later.
  • Shihiko : that's interesting it is missing... let's see the source.
  • kdoll08 : Hey Shihiko whatever happened to the custom twitter feed you had setup on the site? It was great for news sometimes when there hadn't been a site update lately.
  • Shihiko : I don't even know the logic behind that name in the first place, but yeah I see your point there.
  • Darkstar : I'm probably going to have everyone disagree with this statement, but some of the Japanese names aren't very good either. I prefer Pandora over Fatima.
  • Shihiko : Well over the years I have realised that they are quite out of touch with the current generation of gaming. Hence why there are bits that are so close but yet so far in each of the later iterations of the game.
  • stormy : I just think that the developers of hot shots golf think americans are too dumb to understand and pronouce japanese names...
  • Shihiko : I can understand if they change something like Yukino to Alex and Satsuki to Amy... but there were a few that made no sense to change. Also on the portable series Everybody's golf Euro version got japanese names in english while hot shots golf got weird localised names.
  • Shihiko : Felipe was Kid. I mean there is nothing wrong there...
  • Shihiko : Actually most names aren't even originally Japanese. Example Anya was originally called Sapphire.
  • stormy : Ah, I see. But why they change the music, intro's, and name's of the characters is stupid. Do they think that Americans/Europeans cannot pronounce japanese names or something? Especially with the popularity of anime in those places? Surely they jest :P
  • Shihiko : Because some of those interactions are apparently too raunchy to receive an Everybody Rating in the other countries, which is fine and makes sense to remove in order to comply with those things.
  • stormy : I saw a video about them removing some caddie/player interactions in hot shots golf oob... Apparently dino getting the epic love tap from that one caddy isn't on there... Why? I will never know.
  • Shihiko : Would be nicer if they spent that money time and resources on marketing the game and getting it to the masses faster.
  • Shihiko : To me it just feels like wasted resources on something that doesn't improve player experience.
  • stormy : Their mindset was... OH MAH GAWD! JAPAN IS TOO EPIC FOR AMERICAN EYES!
  • Shihiko : haha yeah. I don't think they bothered to change it this time for 6. However when I first got the english version I was wondering what was the mentality behind the producers to warrant these sorts of changes.
  • stormy : That opening is way better than the one I have :| ...
  • Shihiko : and this is the opening in japanese for mng5. «link»
  • Shihiko : Well we already know they probably didn't change the music since the PSVita version exists, but they already changed names and stuff...
  • Shihiko : just a reminder of the euro/us opening was like this for mng5. «link»
  • Darkstar : In Europe, Hot Shots Golf is known as Everybody's Golf.
  • stormy : Wait a hot second... Is this the european versions of the game? It's not named hot shots golf... So?
  • Darkstar : I mean the Vita version had all of the original music, so I don't think the music has changed.
