*Sigh* Nothing new, more balls… Also even though Lv.5 is out, you must already own Lv.4 to be able to use the Lv.5… Sony is really driving the pay to win scheme here.

Balls cost 200 JPY each and require the Lv.4 version also 200 JPY to use. Not sure why there is no special offer for both balls if you require both to use. Seeing as anniversary is next month maybe something will come up…?

Full set of Lv.5 Clubs and Balls will set you back around 7200 JPY… Enjoy it guys.

You can’t just unlock them in the shop?

I’m not a big fan of P2W. A game I used to love, DCUO in my opinion really degenerated after the P2W system was put in place. Cosmetic items I have no issue with, and don’t mind supporting the game/company by purchasing them.

Yeah I agree with you on that. I would pay for lobby parts and stupid stuff I may never use, which I have in the past… but the element of pay to win in a game designed where skill cannot out play luck seems really stupid to me. You guys know I love the series, and have no problem competing with weak chars but making us pay for deliberately fixing their weakened characters around the amount that it costs to buy two games sickens me not just as a fan but even as a game designer.

This kind of seems like how app designers scalp customers who pay for free apps, but need overpriced add ons and in app purchases just to do reasonably well at the game… Why not just let players unlock them doing challenge modes, or as in the case of this game go to the points shop and buy them?

No it is different, free to play with add-ons is different to buying two games then having to pay for items that require no real work to implement and charge people the amount for another two games.

In one situation you are given a choice to play the game, you don’t have to… The other you pay and support the developers by buying their game, then you’re getting screwed over because if you don’t pay more you cannot compete with other players.

My opinion is that it is okay for us to support the developers if what they are offering is reasonable or if they are making changes to improve the game of bugs or mistakes they made during development or if they are working on new features for us to enjoy.

Also releasing balls and clubs 4 months in a row is just wrong, as we are not even accustomed to the Lv.4 gear yet and you release Lv.5? Get real? People are leaving and high level players aren’t playing anymore, your core audience aren’t there anymore because the game is boring. Rather than release different Lv. of gear why not release different skinned gear or different brands with different effects? Mega Spin, Laser, 100t Hammer… Remember those?

You know what I’ve been playing instead of golf? Sadly a game that claimed it’s fame to kicking dirt in their fans face. Diablo 3… Why? Because the developers are making an effort to improve our enjoyment of their game.

I totally remember the one ton hammer, that was fun to play with! It was epic! When I but HSG 4 and 3 I will see what I can buy and see what effects they have. But it seems wrong to do that, making someone pay then screwing them over if they don’t pay… It’s supposedly “good” business, but you don’t alienate fans of them for profit.

Good business is bringing in more fans and players. You’ll get people talking, playing and buying your stuff if you have more people. That’s why many people flock to the free to play system because they don’t feel they lose by playing. However the developers are hoping by more players playing eventually someone will fork out for their goods. That’s where good add ons and bad add ons come into play. If I released big magnum Lv.5 and 100t hammer, both do the same thing however 100t hammer costs 1 dollar more while big magnum just looks like a normal club, which would you buy?

I’d buy the 100t club because it’s more fun playing with a big ole hammer than a boring looking club…
