Been lazy about posting this since I read about it a few days ago… Everybody’s Golf World Tour and Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds online service will be ending on Oct 31st 2013… Timing seems about right in accordance to the PlayStation 3 release of Everybody’s Golf 6.

Trivia… did you know that the servers are the same for the login server is the same for both versions of the game? So they are really just shutting down the grade tour and leaderboard servers. Though it will be Halloween for some when the servers are shut down, is there people who would like me to stream the last day of Everybody’s Golf World Tour Online?

Envisager made a post about it over at the Community Forums.

I’d be down for a stream of it.

Too bad an independent company couldn’t take over the server. I would even pay $10 a month to play on it. Maybe even have separate servers for HSG 4 and 5.

I feel like they kept the server up for too long actually, cause when I lurked in the lobbies only about 15 at a time were in one room. I feel like most companies keep online up for too long, I remember skate 2 still having online when it was practically dead. Now HSG OOB wasn’t dead by any means, but online was just kept on too long in my opinion.

I think it really depends… For example Online is fine, but when an online system ends it also ends the ability for you to enjoy the game with your friends. While for example if you had a game like Biohazard which enables to you play with your friends through the friend invite system, that I think is a nice touch. Means that even without the official servers you can get a game going.

Since a lot more players enjoyed the game system of 5… seeing the service end would be quite sad knowing that you can never play with your friends around the world in it any more. Even if games don’t have online these days, there should be a system to allow you to play with your friends over the internet. Mingol Portable is still able to do that thanks to signal tunnelling services.
